Valencia, Spain – In Spain Max Lanza had the perfect debut between the PRO drivers of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. At the Valencia racetrack, the Italian driver put on the table an awesome comeback in Race 1, recovering 24 positions, while in the second manche conquered the victory in Challenger Trophy. Thanks to the two overall Top10 gained at his first attempt in the EuroNASCAR PRO division, Lanza is now fifth in the overall standings, leader of the Challenger Trophy classification.

I couldn’t hope for a better debut! It’s incredible, I still can’t believe it! After the qualifying all seemed lost, 32th spot on the grid due a track limit penalty. I pushed like a hell, my #88 CAAL Racing was a rocket and I took some risk sometime. I’ve never had such a good time, maybe it was the best race of my EuroNASCAR career!” said Lanza, who crossed the finish line in 9th position but it was promoted 8th in the post race. “In Race 2 I took the advantage of my fastest lap on Saturday race to definitely start further on and, after the exciting Challenger Trophy second position on Saturday, on Sunday I took the win and another overall Top10! Thanks to the best comeback of the weekend and the consistency of results we had in Spain, we leave Valencia 5th in the overall EuroNASCAR PRO standings and leader of the Challenger Trophy. Moreover, thanks to the great debut of my teammate Alberto Naska, our #88 is second in the Team classification!

Next round of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series is scheduled at Brands Hatch circuit, UK, on June, the 11th and 12th.
