Most, Czech Republic – Max Lanza will hardly forget the NASCAR Euro Series weekend just concluded in Most. A weekend to frame, in front of more than 43,000 fans, that told a true story of sport and determination. After the heavy crash at Brands Hatch, his usual Camaro #88 was still in the garage for repairs, and the Roman driver seemed destined to watch the Czech round from home. But at the very last moment, the opportunity arose to jump into CAAL Racing’s second car, the #89. A last-minute call that radically changed his weekend.

Lanza didn’t just take part: he made his mark. After getting to grips with the new car on Friday and overcoming some technical issues in qualifying, the Roman driver scored an incredible podium in Saturday’s race, finishing third in the Challenger Trophy thanks to a careful and intelligent drive. But the best was yet to come: on Sunday, Lanza raised the bar even higher, taking victory in the Trophy standings and at the same time clinching a remarkable overall Top 10 finish.

“What should have been a weekend in front of the TV turned into one of the best experiences of my career. Jumping into the #89 at the last moment and immediately bringing it to the podium and then to victory was an immense satisfaction,” said an enthusiastic Max Lanza at the end of the weekend. “It’s a beautiful sports story, and I’ll never stop being grateful.
