Roma – Max Lanza will miss the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Final scheduled this week end at Zolder Circuit, Belgium, due some sudden family affairs. The Italian driver has to stop his exciting comeback in the Challenger Trophy, started after NASCAR GP UK. The #88 Camaro driver is now third in the standings, far few points to the lead.
“As a bolt in the blue, in the past days I had a news about my family that changed all my plans for next weekends. I want to reassure everyone: it’s a difficult moment but we have a solution. Now my family needs me and my place is there now. I want and I must stay with them now. In these conditions, racing in Zolder has no sense, I can’t be in Belgium when all my thoughts are elsewhere. It risks only to be dangerous and it will never give us the results we have worked a lot for.” said the Rome-native driver
“I want to thank all my partners and my fans for the support and the warmth they gave me this season. I love all of you, we will try again next season!” continued Lanza. “I will see Zolder Finals from home supporting my CAAL Racing teammates fighting for the title: Gimmy, Alberto but especially my teammate Roberto Benedetti. In Belgium he will the captain of our #88! It’s a pity to end the season without trying the last assault to the Challenger Trophy title, but don’t worry, next year we will have more experience and we will be even more hungry!”
